Exposure of Mesenchymal Stem Cells to an Alzheimer’s Disease Environment Enhances Therapeutic Effects

نویسندگان

چکیده

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have emerged as a promising tool for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Previous studies suggested that coculture human MSCs with AD in an vitro model reduced expression amyloid-beta 42 (A?42) medium well overexpression amyloid-beta- (A?-) degrading enzymes such neprilysin (NEP). We focused on role primed (human Wharton’s jelly-derived mesenchymal (WJ-MSCs) exposed to cell line via system) reducing levels A? and inhibiting death. demonstrated mouse groups treated naïve showed significant reductions death, ubiquitin conjugate levels, but effects were greater MSCs. Also, mRNA sequencing data analysis indicated high TGF-? induced primed-MSCs. Furthermore, transgenic model. These results highlighted environmental preconditioning is strategy reduce death maintain stemness Further, these suggest WJ-MSCs environment may represent novel therapy AD.

An overview of therapeutic approaches to brain tumor stem cells

Primary and secondary malignant central nervous system (CNS) tumors are devastating invasive tumors able to give rise to many kinds of differentiated tumor cells. Glioblastoma multiform (GBM), is the most malignant brain tumor, in which its growth and persistence depend on cancer stem cells with enhanced DNA damage repair program that also induces recurrence and resists current chemo- and radi...

Therapeutic Effects of Mesenchymal Stem Cells for Parkinson’s Disease

To appreciate the potential applications of stem cell technology in neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson’s disease (PD), it is important to understand the characteristics of the various types of stem cells. These stem cells include mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), embryonic stem (ES) cells, progenitor cells, and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPS). Amo...

Cell Survival Effects of Autophagy Regulation on Umbilical Cord-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Following Exposure to Oxidative Stress

Background: Due to oxidative stress, hypoxia, and serum deprivation, a large percentage of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) die in the early stages of transplantation. The present study aimed to address whether induction or inhibition of autophagy would affect the viability of MSCs after exposure to oxidative stress. Methods: MSCs were isolated from umbilical cord tissue using the Ficoll grad...

Emergence of signs of neural cells after exposure of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells to fetal brain extract

Objective(s): Nowadays much effort is being invested in order to diagnose the mechanisms involved in neural differentiation. By clarifying this, making desired neural cells in vitro and applying them into diverse neurological disorders suffered from neural cell malfunctions could be a feasible choice. Thus, the present study assessed the capability of fetal brain extract (FBE) to induce rat bon...
